A Face in the Crowd...

This is a composite, part of my early practice work with layers in Photoshop. The base photo is a shot of the crowd at a Harvard University football game, Soldiers' Field, 1966 or 1967. It was taken with a rented 300mm lens on my old Pentax. I fooled around with different filter and posterizing techniques to get the colors shown.

The mask is a photo of Aaron's magnificent clay sculpture from a course at Prescott. He gave it as a gift to Steve Jelin, and the photo of it was taken on Steve's living room wall last December. With an extraction layer I was able to place the face on the crowd...not great art, but fun to try the techniques.
